Teaching module: Personal care

Personal care products such as shampoo and toothpaste have become an indispensable part of children’s everyday lives. But what is actually behind them? Why are they important, what do they do, and how are they manufactured? These are just a few of the questions that will be explored in this series of lessons.

The focus is on basic scientific working methods. These include a systematic approach, close observation, documenting the results, and finally evaluating them. We also ask the question: “What can we learn from what we found out and observed – were we able to answer our initial research question with the experiment?”

The topic of “personal care” is divided into three sub-areas: Dental care, skin care and hair care.
